Union of Egyptians in Europe (UEE) holds on Friday evening, in the British capital London, a seminar attended by Mohamed Mahsoub, Egyptian Minister of State for Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, to review the officially published draft of the new constitution, to hear and answer the audience’s questions.

In a statement to the Middle East News Agency (MENA) in London, UEE President Essam Abdel-Samad said this meeting comes after completion of drawing up the draft charter as the first of many debates and discussions in which Egyptians at home and abroad will exchange views on the draft of the new constitution.

"The first draft of Egypt’s new national charter was released for discussion on October 10, through the official website of the Constituent Assembly entrusted with the task of writing the new document.

"The draft constitution received many criticisms and concerns about the articles on the system of governance, activating the gains of women, minority rights, freedom of belief, and the rights of expatriates, among other thorny issues of concern to the Egyptian community abroad and at home.

"This meeting will discuss all these points with the Minister of State for Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, so as to convey the views of Egyptians in Britain and Europe to Egyptian authorities back home, so they can be taken into account."
