Muslim Brotherhood, Freedom and Justice Party Offer Condolences to Egypt’s Copts over Death of Pope Shenouda III
Egyptian Coptic Christian Pope Shenouda III dies, on Saturday evening, at the age of 89 years, after a long battle with illness. May his soul rest in peace.

Dr. Mohamed Badie, Chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood, conveyed sincere sympathy and condolences to Egypt’s Coptic Christians, saying: “May God help our Christian brothers overcome this painful tragedy and bring a successor who can faithfully serve and benefit the whole country and keep promoting a sense of unity between all citizens”.

Earlier, Dr. Badie, together with a high-level delegation from the Muslim Brotherhood, had recently visited Pope Shenouda III, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark, who had been fighting cancer for a long while.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mohamed Morsi, Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), said that Pope Shenouda III, left after a long journey of giving, national history and significant contributions in various fields and on various levels – domestic and foreign.

On my behalf and on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood, we extend our most sincere and heartfelt condolences and sympathy to our brothers in the homeland and humanity, the Copts of Egypt, each and every one of them, in this especially difficult time, on the loss of His Beatitude Pope Shenouda III, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark. I pray that God help our brothers overcome this painful ordeal, and bring a successor who can faithfully serve and benefit the whole country and keep promoting a sense of unity between all citizens.
