Muslim Brotherhood Re-Affirms Joining Revolution Squares Protests
Muslim Brotherhood Re-Affirms Joining Revolution Squares Protests
Despite deliberately misleading media reports to the contrary, Egypt’s Brotherhood confirms it is positively taking part in today’s million-man marches and other protest events in liberty squares across the country.
Tuesday, June 5,2012 18:09

The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt denounced the unprofessional discourse of some journalists and the media in reporting inaccurate and fabricated fables aimed to taint and slander the Muslim Brotherhood, like circulating that the Brotherhood only participates in revolutionary street activities symbolically.

In a statement, today, the Brotherhood said: "We participated positively and strongly in the activities expressing public reactions to the verdicts issued for the killers of demonstrators, on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The Brotherhood called for today’s million-man protests with participation by all the political forces.

"The Brotherhood set the demands of million-man protests as: a re-trial of the killers; prosecuting Ahmed Shafiq, Mahmoud Wagdi and the commanders of the intelligence and state security apparatus of the former regime for destroying evidence; and preventing the replication of the former regime."

The statement stressed that the Muslim Brotherhood, as an integral part of the people of this homeland, will continue to partake in the people’s activities so as to achieve the most important demands of the revolution, and especially retribution for the blood of the martyrs of the revolution.
