A number of female Copts in Badresheen in Giza's first constituency cast their votes favouring the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Wednesday in the parliamentary elections rerun.

Speaking to Ikhwanweb, Coptic voter Mervat William stated: “I head to the ballots last week and voted for the FJP candidate. This week in the runoff I intend to vote for them again especially as the party’s agenda focuses on justice and this is exactly what we want. We trust that the FJP will accomplish justice for all”.

Farha Maher Ibrahim, another Christian voter, agreed adding: “I have not been affected by the negative propaganda and circulating rumours concerning the Islamic reference based state since it promotes justice for all regardless of religion. The Islamic Law ordains that Copts live freely and according to their religion’s law concerning personal affairs”.

Moreover, voter Amal Sobhi expressed her hopes that the FJP succeed in developing Egypt and achieve justice and equality for all. “The party is renowned for its moderacy and it agenda indicates that their priority lies in attaining equality for Muslims and Copts alike”.
